With the guidance and organization of Randy Borman of the Cofán and in collaboration with Gordon Hempton of Quiet Parks International and Nick McMahan, we will embark on a journey from Quito, Ecuador to Garza-cocha lake. The journey will include listening and collecting recordings with DPA’s newly released binaural microphone. These recordings will be used to create a new piece, commissioned by the city of Raleigh, North Carolina.
The region of the Zabalo River, Ecuador, where we will be passing through, is the world’s first certified wilderness quiet park. Consider supporting the Cofán Survival Fund here.
Gratitude to the anonymous donor who has made this research trip possible, along with donated flight miles and the generosity of DPA Microphones, who is sponsoring the use of their equipment.
